Sundays on St Helena are usually quiet, but having the entire airport arrivals hall to ourselves? Now that’s a special kind of peaceful! Williams Taxis & Tours had the unique opportunity to pick up members of the French Air Force as they arrived in a KC-130J Super Hercules—a beast of an aircraft that looked almost too big for our remote island runway. With no bustling crowds, no long queues, and just the sound of an occasional tannoy announcement echoing through the empty hall, it felt like we had VIP access to one of the world’s most exclusive airport experiences.
